HONOLULU — In a news release this week, Hawaiian Airlines announced beginning in April 2021, the airlines will offer two weekly nonstop flights between Honolulu (HNL) and Austin (AUS). In addition, the airline is adding nonstop flights from Ontario, Canada, and Orlando, Florida. Tickets for the flights are on sale now.
“We are delighted to bring our superior value proposition to travelers visiting Hawai‘i from Austin, Ontario and Orlando, while adding service to Maui from Long Beach,” said Peter Ingram on the company’s website. He is president and CEO of Hawaiian Airlines. “2021 is going to be a special time to experience Hawai‘i, and we can’t wait to welcome onboard guests from our newest cities.”
The flights include island-inspired complimentary meals on its 278-seat Airbus A330 airplane, with 18 First Class seats, 68 Extra Comfort premium economy seats, and 192 Main Cabin seats. The airline is in its 92nd year of service, offering nonstop flights between Hawaii and 13 gateway cities in the U.S.
Flights from Austin begin on April 21, making it the sixteenth city in the country on Hawaiian Airlines’ routes, and the first south-central in its network.
“Even though this year has had unprecedented impacts to the airline and airport industries, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport remains committed to providing the best service we can to our passengers,” stated airport CEO Jacqueline Yaft in the news release. “We know that many Central Texans will be eager to travel next year and we are excited to offer an easy and convenient way for them to explore Hawai‘i.”
Flights from Austin to Hawaii will leave each Wednesday and Saturday at 10 a.m., arriving to the island at 10:10 p.m. The return flight back to Austin leaves each Thursday and Sunday at 10:10 a.m., arriving at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport at 1:30 p.m.
Round-trip prices begin at $498 each.
