Georgetown Library returns to curbside-only service due to Covid-19 cases increasing

GEORGETOWN, Texas — The number of positive Covid-19 cases have been on the increase in Williamson County, and therefore, the City of Georgetown has decided to close its library and return to curbside pick-up of books for the public, as noted on the Georgetown Public Library’s website.

Williamson County has established various levels of decreasing and increasing transmission rates of the coronavirus, and states that the region is now back to being in the “orange” rate, with high community spread. The rolling seven-day average has increased from 6.88 to 9.22 per 100,000 residents in the past seven days.  There were 10,842 confirmed cases reported in Williamson County, according to the most updated information on the Williamson County and Cities Health District’s website.

booksResidents can reserve books for pick-up during the following hours, Monday through Saturday. The library is closed on Sundays.

  • Monday – Friday:
    10 a.m.- Noon and 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Saturday:
    10 a.m. – Noon and 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Those residents with a library card can sign onto their account online to reserve books, using the card number printed on the back of the card, along with the card holder’s phone number. Find the book title to reserve and click on it. Choose the Georgetown Library location as the pick-up point, and the library will notify the card holder when the book is ready to get at the curbside location.
