PFLUGERVILLE, Texas — As Texas residents know, the seasons in Texas can come and go rapidly. While overnight temperatures the past couple of weeks have been cool, it is due to be in the seventies the remainder of this week. However, with those cool nighttime temperatures comes a need for warmer clothing.
The City of Pflugerville is collecting items to give to those in need, and asks the public’s support with making donations. The drop-off location is the Pflugerville Public Library, 1008 W. Pfluger St. While the library remains closed to inside service for checking out books, curbside service is available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Staff will accept the donations. - Gold Bond Lotion
- Emergency blankets
- Lip Balm
- Gloves
Pflugerville, along with the the city of Austin, is currently in the Stage 4 of its COVID-19 public health classifications. Stage4 has resulted in the closure of the city’s Library Courtyard. Free WiFi remains available to the public in the library’s parking lot. Online sign-up for library cards are in place, as are digital eResources and virtual programs for all ages. There are five stages in the library’s reopen plan.
The Pflugerville Recreation Center remains open with usage limited to just the fitness room and walking track. Gilleland Creek Pool is open for lap swimming, but reservations are needed. All sports fields in the city are closed for off-season maintenance until the middle of February.
The annual Pfall Pfest Craft Show, set for December 12 and 13, was recently canceled due to the uptick in COVID-19 cases and concern for the safety of shoppers and vendors.
