HUTTO, Texas — Test dates for those students who have applied for the accelerated learning program in Hutto will run from November 16 to November 23. The deadline to apply was October 16 for this round of testing for those wishing to be accepted into the Gifted and Talented Program. Passing the required tests allows a student to advance one grade level and earn credit for a course or entire grade without needing actual instruction time in a particular course or grade.
The next registration deadline is Monday, December 14. Those tests will be given between January 11 and January 18. The final registration period for the 2020-2021 school year is April 16, 2021, for testing to be done May 17 to May 24, 2021.
Any student who is currently in grades Kindergarten through grade 12 can participate in the advance placement testing. There is no fee to take the exams, which require a campus official’s recommendation. Students must earn a passing grade of 80 or higher to earn the accelerated course grade.
Applications are available in both English and Spanish. Completed applications should be returned to Hutto ISD School Support Services at 305 E. Live Oak St. They may also be faxed to 512-759-2181 by 4 p.m. on the various deadline dates.
