ROUND ROCK, Texas — Even in times of social distancing, events are being planned which allow attendees to keep six feet apart and have a rocking good time. Ballpark Music and the Round Rock Express have announced that country music superstars Midland will perform at Dell Diamond on Saturday, December 5, as posted on the Express’s website.
Members of the band include Cameron Duddy, Mark Wystrach and Jess Carson who are from Dripping Springs. Their second album, “Let It Roll,” reach the #1 position on Billboard’s Top Country Album Sales chart upon release. The group released its first album, “On the Rocks,” in 2017. The Washington Post said it was the “year’s best Country album.” In 2018, Midland was named New Vocal Group of the Year at the 2018 American Country Music Awards. The band was nominated for Group of the Year for ACM awards in 2020. The band leaves for a tour to Norway and Sweden the day after the concert in Round Rock, according to information on the band’s website.
Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, November 4 at 10 a.m. Parking is included in the price of the tickets. Children ages two and younger do not need a ticket nor do they count toward the number of people assigned to a seating “pod.” Guests may bring blankets to sit on the field. Lawn chairs, inflatables or any kind of chair that is raised off the ground are not permitted.
Only clear, see-through bags are allowed into the event. Food and beverages will be on sale at the ballpark, including alcohol. Not outside food or beverages are permitted. Midland’s merchandise can be purchased in the United Heritage Center, which is located down the first base line.
The pods measure six-feet by six-feet on the field, in the seating bowl or in a suite. Prices are based on the distance from teh stage, which will be located in front of the center field shed. VIP and Field Reserved sections are available. ADA tickets can also be purchased.
