WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — The Salvation Army’s annual Tree of Angels public ceremony will not be held this year due to Covid-19 restrictions, but the program for families in need who live in Williamson and Travis counties will still take place. Cards will be mailed to the families who are part of the program notifying them of the change.
Williamson County Commissioners issued a proclamation at its Tuesday night meeting designating the first week of December as Tree of Angels Week.
Those wanting to donate gifts may still do so as in years past. Unmanned decorated trees hung with tags of the names of those who are part of the program to receive gifts will be set up in four locations:
- Barton Creek Square Mall, Austin
- Lakeline Mall, Cedar Park
- The Domain (two trees), Austin
- Hill Country Galleria, Bee Cave
Local children will receive presents to open on Christmas Day. Those wishing to assist can adopt up to 10 “angels” via donations through the Salvation Army’s website.
