ROUND ROCK, Texas –UPDATE: As of 12:20 p.m., police announced that one lane of SH 45 was open as hazmat crews continued to clean up the diesel spill on the road.
Original story: According to various news sources, an early morning crash on eastbound State Highway 45 involving an 18-wheeler semi-truck involved 11 other vehicles. The semi-truck rolled over and spilled diesel fuel across the highway. A hazmat crew is on the scene to work the clean-up. De-icing trucks are on the scene.
As a result, SH 45 is closed between A.W. Grimes Boulevard and Interstate 35. Officials are investigating the crash.
With the melting on Monday of Sunday’s area-wide snow, some icy conditions existed later in the evening and overnight on area roads.
