ROUND ROCK, Texas — The City of Round Rock has announced that voters can get free bus rides to voting locations on election day, Tuesday, November 3. While many people have taken advantage of Early Voting, it is tradition for others to wait until the National Election Day to cast their votes. Voters may cast their ballots at any polling location in the county where they are registered.
Three positions are on the ballot for the City of Round Rock: Mayor, City Council Place 1, and City Council Place 4. Mayor Craig Morton is running unopposed, while the Council seats each have two candidates.
The free bus rides are a cooperative effort of the city and CapMetro’s “Ride to Vote” initiative, according to a post on the City of Round Rock’s website. Paratransit buses will also be part of the free ride promotion. Riders must wear face coverings while riding on any CapMetro bus.
A list of polling locations where buses will travel to are listed on the CapMetro website, and include the Round Rock voting location at All Nations Church, 16804 Radholme Court. Other polling places are in Leander, Pflugerville, Lago Vista, numerous sites in Austin.
There is a total of 12 voting locations in Round Rock, ranging from schools to senior centers, churches and grocery stores.
Visit the Williamson County Election website to print out a sample ballot for a specific location. Reviewing the list of candidates in advance, and learning about them via their individual websites before voting, will help make a voter’s time in the voting booth shorter. Voters who take a list with them of who they intend to vote for makes the process easier when voting.
