City offices closed for holidays; no trash pickup on Friday; Christmas tree recycling starts

ROUND ROCK, Texas — With Christmas falling on a Friday this year, customers whose normal trash pickup day is on Friday will have delays in service due to the holiday. Customers with Friday pickup should plan on putting out their trash cans the following day, on Saturday.

This affects the schedule during Christmas week and also next week for New Year’s Day. Trash collection will be on Saturday, December 26 and also on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021.

In addition, all city offices, the library, Clay Madsen Recreation Center, Municipal Court, Baca Center and the city Utility Billing Office will be closed on Thursday and Friday, December 24 and December 25, as well as January 1.

Christmas Tree Recycling

Trees can be recycled at the Round Rock Recycling Center, 310 Deepwood Drive, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The trees will be shredded into mulch which is free to Round Rock residents for pickup at the recycling center. Be sure to remove all decorations, nails, wires, ornaments, tree stands, lights, and tinsel before bringing in your tree.

On Saturday, Dec. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 2, 2020 only, the City will give away small tree seedlings (100 per day/one per vehicle) and provide volunteers to help unload trees for residents who bring their Christmas trees for recycling.
