GEORGETOWN, Texas — Registered voters will cast ballots a second time in a run-off election for two candidates vying for Georgetown’s City Council District 2. Because neither garnered fifty percent or more of the votes cast on November 3, a run-off election has to take place. Candidates are Shawn Hood, 56, an architectural designer, and Lisa King, 54, owner of a women’s boutique.
Voter turnout for the election on November 3 was 75 percent of registered voters.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on December 3 and 4, and open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 5. Voting locations are:
- Georgetown City Hall – 808 Martin Luther King Jr. St., Georgetown, TX
- McNeil High School – Hartfield Performing Arts Center, 5800 McNeil Dr., Austin, TX
- Anderson Mill Limited – 11500 El Salido Parkway, Austin, TX
Those who choose not to vote early can cast ballots on Election Day, which is Friday, December 15, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voting locations are:
- Georgetown City Hall – 808 Martin Luther King Jr. St., Georgetown, TX
- First Baptist Church – Georgetown – 1333 W. University Ave., Georgetown, TX
- McNeil High School–Hartfield Performing Arts Center – 5800 McNeil Dr., Austin, TX
- Anderson Mill Limited – 11500 El Salido Parkway, Austin, TX
- Pinballz Lake Creek – 13729 N. US 183 Hwy, Austin, TX
- Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex – 10211 W.Parmer Lane, Austin, TX
Dates for the second election were set at a council meeting held Tuesday, November 17.
At the same meeting, Mayor Josh Schroeder was sworn in as mayor along with Rachael Jonrowe, who was elected to a fourth term to represent District 6. Schroeder takes over for Dale Ross, who has served 6.5 years as mayor after three years as a Georgetown City Council member.
