ROUND ROCK, Texas – A new 43,000 square-foot facility will be built by East/West Manufacturing Enterprises (EWME) to expand its involvement in the electronics manufacturing services. The building will be located at 1974 Steam Way in Round Rock, as announced Friday by the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce.
Thirty existing jobs will be retained with another thirty jobs added during the next five years. Round Rock is expected to benefit from this company that provides solutions for the industrial, medical, aerospace and defense, and automotive businesses.
Round Rock Mayor Craig Morgan was supportive in a statement made via the Chamber. “We are excited to welcome East/West Manufacturing to Round Rock as they expand their operations. I am proud that our community continues to be a destination for companies seeking to grow and create jobs.”
EWME is headquartered in Austin, 11100 Metric Blvd., where it produces high-quality printed circuit board assembly, print-to-build manufacturing services for equipment, cases, cables, and other assemblies. The company also builds items to customer specifications, according to its website. In the aerospace and defense industries, EWME states it provides “IPC-A-610 Class II and Class III soldering for both leaded and lead-free assemblies.”
“We are excited to build a new state-of-the-art facility in Round Rock,” said Andy Salo, CEO of EWME. “As our customers’ needs have expanded, so has our need for a grater footprint. We have been incredibly impressed with the pro-business environment and welcoming nature of the Round Rock Chamber and City Council.”
Salo purchased the company in 2017 and has made major changes since then. Salo earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree at the University of Texas at Austin. Others on the management team include Jim Covell, Richard Tsukano and Roger Hamilton.
