A new location will open in 2021.

HUTTO, Texas — As many restaurants and a few bars prepare to open in the surrounding area, Hutto is excited to welcome a new barbeque restaurant opening Thursday, October 15. It is located at the 35-acre Co-Op District on Highway 79.

Southside Market & Barbeque, 106 Co-Op Boulevard, offers dine-in, take-out and curbside food pick-up service. COVID-19 protective measures will be in place, according to third-generation pitmaster Bryan Bracewell. He runs the business along with his wife, Rachel. His family opened its first location in Elgin in 1882 and boast that their business is the “oldest BBQ joint in Texas selling authentic Central Texas barbeque for meat-lovers who value quality.” There are also locations in Bastrop and Austin.

Southside Market is known for its quality sausages and barbeque, their top-notch customer service and company culture, according to Bracewell.

Southside Market-Sausage
A family tradition

Southside Market at The Co-Op District is neighbors with the new Hutto City Hall, a two-story, 33,000 square-foot building, also home to the Hutto Public Library. The restaurant will be open at 75 percent capacity, with indoor seating for thirty-six people, as well as additional seating on the outdoor patio.

The Southside Market Hutto location will serve BBQ-by-the-half pound, including the famous Original Beef Sausage, USDA Prime brisket, chopped beef, jalapeño cheddar sausage, chicken, pork, ribs, and more. Sandwiches, salads, a loaded chopped brisket baked potato, and sides, including coleslaw, beans, corn on the cob, potato salad, along with macaroni and cheese, are available on the lunch and dinner menu. Larger family-style meals are also available, and the restaurant offers a variety of catering packages. Desserts are also on the menu.
