WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — According to local news reports and an interview with the newly sworn in Sheriff Mike Gleason, a number of misconduct charges that were filed within the Sheriff’s office were never handled by the previous administration.
Mike Gleason defeated Robert Chody in last November’s election. Since that time, Chody has also filed a lawsuit against Gleason, claiming election fraud. Chody was under criminal indictment during the time of the election, as well. The indictment has to do with alleged evidence tampering related to reality TV show footage that shows Williamson County deputies using force on a man, Javier Ambler II, who later died. The grand jury investigated the case before issuing the indictment. Also indicted in the case is former Williamson County Attorney General Counsel Jason Nassour.
Chody believes as stated in the affidavit in the lawsuit that Gleason’s wife, Alison, who is the director of the Williamson County Enterprise Applications Division, and has access to the voting machine software, could potentially have affected the outcome of the voting.
According to Gleason’s interview with KXAN, he said there is a “stack” of new complaints circulating around five incidents involving Williamson County deputies. Gleason called the complaints “deputy misconduct” and said his department’s internal affairs unit would open investigations into those allegations immediately.
Sheriff Gleason stated he would be making these cases and complaints a priority as he now takes office. He did not elaborate on the details of any of the cases and said the persons involved are no longer working for the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department.
