ROUND ROCK, Texas – Gov. Greg Abbott is one of seven speakers at this year’s business conference sponsored by the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce. Set for Tuesday, October 27, because of the situation with COVID-19, the 2020 event will be held virtually. The conference is for businesses of all sizes and is open to all employees who will learn about the future of the Texas economy as the speakers also explore workforce trends.
“Future Focus Business Conference & Expo” features Gov. Abbott and Dr. Ray Perryman in the opening session beginning at 9 a.m. Perryman is an international economist and leading expert on the topic of the Texas economy. Prior to the first session, a Virtual Exhibit Hall is available from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
After a brief break, the 10:20 a.m. session will be a “Panel Discussion on the Future of Workforce.” Aaron Demerson of the Texas Workforce Commission, Amy M. Atsumi from Dell Technologies, and Sarah Beadle of Emerson Automaton Solutions will speak.
The Virtual Exhibit Hall opens again from 11:20 a.m. until noon, followed by the last session beginning at 12 p.m. called “The Future of Workforce and its Impact on Economic Opportunity.” Ted Abernathy of Economic Leadership LLC is the presenter. He works in more than a dozen states to develop economic and workforce strategies, according to the RR Chamber’s website.
Virtual Networking and the Virtual Exhibit Hall are scheduled from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. to finish out the conference.
