ROUND ROCK, Texas — Round Rock City Council will meet at 6 p.m. on Thursday for the first time in 2021. On the agenda are a number of resolutions which will authorize Mayor Craig Morgan to execute various contracts and agreements. Of note is that the city plans to enter into an agreement with Amazon to purchase certain goods and services, as well as authorizing purchase of a new fire truck.
Following are instructions as to how citizens can view and offer input on the agenda items:

- If you wish to attend in person there is no advance registration needed – simply arrive early and complete a comment card located at the back of the Chambers and turn it in to the City Clerk prior to start of the meeting. This registration is to speak only. Do not register on Zoom to watch the meeting, please see above on how to watch the meeting online and on TV.
One of the first resolutions to be considered is designating Sheppard Street in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In part, the resolutions states the reason for this honor is a focus on the city’s black community, and how “Sheppard Street has played a prominent role in Round Rock’s history by connecting
the City’s governmental and commercial center on Main St. with one of the City’s predominantly minority neighborhoods.” The resolution, if signed, will authorize staff to erect signage with the new name designation. Monday, January 18, is a national holiday, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and city offices will be closed.
Other items and resolutions to be considered include:
- Approving the action of the Round Rock Transportation and Economic Development Corporation (Type B Corp) in approving an Economic Development Incentive Agreement with Ametrine, Inc.
- To execute the FY 2020 “Equitable Sharing Agreement and Certification” confirming the City’s receipt and expenditure of federal asset forfeiture awards and agreeing to continue to participate in the receipt of federal forfeiture awards.
- To authorize the Mayor to execute an Interlocal Agreement and corresponding Bill of Sale with Travis County Emergency Services District No. 3 for the purchase of an aerial fire truck.
- To execute a Contract with J.D. Abrams, LP for the University Boulevard Expansion – AW Grimes to SH 130 Project.
- To execute Supplemental Contract No. 1 with Halff Associates, Inc. for the Wyoming Springs Segment 1 Project.
- To execute a Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with Amazon Services, LLC for the purchase of various goods and services through its online marketplace.
- To approve the emergency action of the Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority (BCRUA) to enter into a contract with Excel Construction Services, LLC for the emergency repair of a 36-inch raw water transmission pipeline.
