ROUND ROCK, Texas — Days on the Round Rock Independent School District (RRISD) calendar that were initially planned to be “early release” days have been changed by the RRISD Board of Trustees. The days will now be full instructional days, according to a notice on the RRISD website.
A total of eight days were changed. Now students will be attending classes all day on December 14, 15, 16, 17 and also on May 24, 25, 26, 27. These dates fall on the end of both school calendar semesters.
The reason for the change was due to in-person instructional minutes required as a result of the effects of COVID-19 on academic days.
The RRISD Board of Trustees has eight members:
Amy Weir, President
Steven E. Math, Vice President
Amber Feller, Secretary
Nikki Gonzales
Charles “Chad”‘ Chadwell
Cory Vessa
Mason Moses
Each may be sent emails and their biographies are listed on the Board of Trustees’ page.
Each serves a term of four years. Officers are chosen from among the group by a vote, and the positions are unpaid. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Round Rock High School Lecture Hall, 300 Lake Creek Dr. Meetings can also be viewed on Channel 10 via Cable TV Access and on ATT Uverse Channel 99.
