GEORGETOWN, Texas — Candidates Lisa King and Shawn F. Hood are once again vying for the Georgetown City Council Place 2 seat in runoff elections taking place now with Early Voting days underway. Neither candidate received more than 50 percent of the votes needed to win in the election held on November 3, 2020.
Lisa King is a small-business owner who is the current president of the Downtown Georgetown Association. She has experience with nonprofit organizations, managing budgets and merchandise. She is the apparel manager for Divine Treasures. She holds a B.A. in psychology from Augsburg College.
Shawn F. Hood, architect, is in private business as a home designer, planner and consultant with more than 30 years of experience in the field. He is an Austin native with his office located at 812 Main St., Georgetown.
Voters may cast ballots through Friday, December 11 before Election Day set for Tuesday, December 15. There is no voting held on Sundays.
Georgetown City Hall, 808 Martin Luther King Jr. St. is the designated Early Voting location and the place to vote on December 15. On Election Day only, a second voting location is First Baptist Church, 1333 W. University Ave., Georgetown. Hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Hours to vote early at City Hall are:
- Friday, December 4 — 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, December 5 — 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Monday, December 7 through Friday, December 11 — 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
According to information about the accuracy of the voting machines, the Williamson County Election Department has posted the following on its website: “In accordance with the Texas Election Code, a public Logic and Accuracy test of the electronic voting equipment and test of the Central Accumulator System to be used in the Joint General and Special Elections on November 3rd, 2020 was conducted at the Georgetown Inner Loop Annex, 301 SE Inner Loop, Georgetown, Texas, on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.”
