PFLUGERVILLE, Texas — The last of $1 million scratch-off tickets in a particular game has been sold and claimed, according to Texas Lottery officials. A Pflugerville resident has claimed the prize in the $200 Million Cash Explosion scratch game and chose to remain anonymous. The ticket was purchased at the Hutto Grocery Store, according to the lottery website.
In October, a Round Rock resident also won $1 million on a Million Dollar Loteria scratch-off ticket. That person also chose to remain anonymous, which is allowed in Texas.
According to Texas Lottery, more than $66 billion in prizes have been awarded through September 2020 since the first ticket was sold in 1992.
The odds of winning the $1 million in the $200 Million Cash Explosion game are 1 in 3.91.
Also this month the Texas Lottery Commission announced it received on October 27 two top lottery industry awards. The Batchy Award and Hickey Award were presented during a virtual conference, the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries’ annual seminar.
“We are honored to have our multicultural advertising and audio/visual presentation efforts recognized by our peers in the lottery industry,” said Gary Grief, executive director of the Texas Lottery Commission stated in the release. “These prestigious awards are the result of the creative collaboration between our agency and advertising partner, ThirdEar, to highlight our products in an exciting way for the purpose of generating revenue for public education and veterans’ services in Texas.”
The Batchy Award is given for multi-cultural advertising via a social media video called “Lucha Libre Loot.” It helped earn $13.87 million in sales since it launched on April 20 and reached 1.5 million followers.
The Hickey Award was for its “LUCK HAPPENS Livestream” which featured the Black Pumas, who are from Austin. It has had more than a thousand views.
